BATON ROUGE, L.a. (WGNO) -- After a 2-2 start to the LSU football season, the second winningest coach in Tiger history, Les Miles has been fired. The school also parted ways with Offensive Coordinator Cam Cameron.

Miles and the Tigers were expected to contend for a national championship this season. But his dismissal comes after a disappointing loss to Auburn on Saturday.

Defensive line coach Ed Orgeron is the interim head coach.

Both Miles and Orgeron spoke to the team Sunday.

Players said Orgeron brought a rope into the meeting. He had everyone touch the rope and to move in a certain direction. This symbolized a "one team" and "one heartbeat".

Players say they are shocked to hear that Miles is out after 12 seasons. Many student athletes said that Saturdays aren't going to be the same.
