NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – The brides and bridesmaids affected by the sudden closure of Linda Lee Bridal in Metairie are invited to a wedding dress swap Saturday.

From 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Saturday, Linda Lee customers can stop by Feet First on Magazine Street with proof of purchase from Linda Lee Bridal. Customers can browse the available dresses and accessories and take home what they need.

The “wedding dress swap” is also seeking donations of wedding dresses, mother of the bride dresses, flower girl dresses, and wedding accessories. Donors can drop off items at Feet First Saturday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

When you drop off your dress, you will have the option to donate your dress permanently or have your dress returned to you if it not matched with a bride in need.

Donated dresses without returns will be brought to the Junior League Bloomin’ Deals Thrift Shop if not matched with a bride.

Linda Lee Bridal left dozens of customers in a bind when the owner closed the business without warning. Many customers are without their dresses and other wedding needs.

The owner told some employees that the closure is because of a serious illness. Other employees said their paychecks have bounced.
