For the Brother Martin Crusaders, football life doesn’t get any easier. Eight days after a 55-46 loss to Karr, the Crusaders play John Curtis Friday Night in the first of an eight game Catholic League series at Zephyr Field.

The game is the first ever football game to be played at the facility in Metairie. It opened in April of 1997.

Curtis has reeled off wins over Landry Walker, West Monroe, and Parkview Baptist.

Curtis is ranked 16th nationally. Brother Martin head coach Mark Bonis told WGNO Sports’ Chelsi McDonald, he is impressed by the Patriots.

Brother Martin is 2-1, with wins over Plaquemine and St Stanislaus, Mississippi.

Last season, the Crusaders defeated Curtis in overtime, 40-37.
