Registered sex offender wanted for Kenner shooting that left man in critical condition

KENNER, La. (WGNO) – Kenner Police are looking for a registered sex offender who goes by the name of “Tubby.” He’s wanted for a shooting that left a man in critical condition.

According to Kenner Police, the shooting happened Friday, Sept. 2 at Lincoln Manner apartment complex. The victim was shot multiple times.

The suspect is Bernest “Tubby” Johnson, 28. He’s a registered sex offender in Mississippi and has a previous address in the 1000 block of 31st Street in Kenner.

Johnson is wanted for attempted second-degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property, felony carrying of weapons and illegal use of weapons.
