ST. CHARLES PARISH, La. (WGNO) - A body that was pulled from the Bonnet Carre Spillway May 4 is that of an 88-year-old woman who was reported missing from New Orleans two days after the body was found.

According to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, DNA tests confirmed that the victim is 88-year-old Estelle Webb. Her death is being investigated as a homicide.

CN Railroad crews reported the body to deputies on May 4.

On May 8, NOPD sent a press release asking for the public’s help in finding Webb. Police said in the news release that Webb could have possibly been harmed or in danger.

Her family last saw her on April 28 at her home in the 8700 block of Heaton Street. Webb’s vehicle, a 2008 Pontiac G5, also was reported missing.  Police say it was found on May 9.

Police also asked for help in finding Lovezella Bartholomew, 17, whom they identified as a person of interest in the missing person case.

It’s unclear whether Bartholomew is wanted in connection with Webb’s death.
