NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – You could listen to live music while being driven to Jazz Fest! Ride-sharing company Lyft is teaming up with Trombone Shorty to add some sweet tunes to your commute Friday.

It’s called “Jazz Mode” On Demand.

Just download the Lyft app and request a ride in “Jazz Mode” for a chance to have a live performance in the car from a musician hand-picked by Trombone Shorty.

The special deal is from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Friday, April 22.

“I grew up playing jazz here in the streets of New Orleans, so it was great to work with Lyft on the launch of Jazz Mode,” said Trombone Shorty. “I’m always trying to move the music forward, and now the music will be moving all over the city.  I was excited to help select the young players who will be performing during the promotion. Jazz Fest is a special time of year. It brings an incredible energy to the city, and everyone is ready to have fun. There’s no better time to take a ride in Jazz Mode.”

For live updates throughout the festival, follow @Lyft and #LyftJazzMode on Twitter. We’ll see you out there!
