SAN ANTONIO, Texas (WGNO) – At least two people are dead following a shooting at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas, authorities said Friday morning on Twitter. The scene is still active.

Bexar County Sheriff’s spokesman James Keith said deputies responded to reports of an active shooter at the Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland Friday morning. Authorities have searched most rooms at the base and have discovered two people dead.

Keith said initial investigations appear that the incident was a murder-suicide.

The base is on lockdown.

The Bexar County Sheriff tweeted the news just after 9 a.m.
