NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) - A fast status hearing for Kimberly Naquin, Thursday. The former Destrehan High School teacher is accused of having a sexual relationship with a female student.

The judge just pushed back her hearing to May 26, 2016, but we were the only TV station at court and got exclusive video of the 27-year-old with her family and lawyer. Naquin's father, Dennis, is the Saint Charles Parish School Board President.

In January, Kimberly Naquin was arrested, after relatives of a female student told the Saint Charles Parish Sheriff's Office about the alleged relationship. The student told investigators she had a sexual relationship with Naquin that lasted nearly a year, starting in September of 2014.

In Jefferson Parish, the geography teacher is accused of having sex with the girl at least 10 times in Naquin's old apartment in Kenner. Several sexual encounters reportedly happened in a classroom. Prosecutors haven't formally pressed charges yet. The case is still under review.

This case came about, a year after two other Destrehan High School teachers were arrested for having a threesome with a male student.

We'll keep a close eye on all these developing cases. A judge told Naquin she does not have to appear in court for the next hearing.
