NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Love Zapp’s and charbroiled oysters? You’re in luck!

The potato chip company is releasing a new Drago’s Charbroiled Oyster¬†flavor.

It will be sold in 5 oz and 1.5 oz bags. But only for a limited time.

The Cvitanovich family, proud owners of Drago’s, says Zapp’s approached them with the idea more than a year and a half ago. Creating the perfect “charbroiled chip” was a lengthy process.

After much trial and error, Klara Cvitanovich says the final version was approved about three months ago.¬† She says she and the rest of the Drago’s team tried at least 25 different batches.

“We wouldn’t approve just any chip,” she says, with a smile.

Klara says no family secrets had to be given away, and she’s thrilled with this latest food marriage. She’s especially happy for her son, Tommy, who is the creator of Drago’s famous charbroiled oysters.

“This will be quite a feather in his cap,” beams the proud mother.

Pick up your bag April 18.
