Missing tourist found, but believes she may have been drugged

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – A woman who went missing while on vacation with her fiance in the French Quarter has been found and is safe.

An NOPD spokesperson says that investigators spoke with 30-year-old Jessica McQuate via telephone and learned that she had returned to her hotel on Friday, February 26.  She was reported missing Tuesday, February 23.

McQuate told detectives that she was unsure of what happened and believes that she may have been drugged.

She also reported that her belongings, including her engagement ring, cash and credit cards had been stolen.

Police say the investigation into Mcquate’s disappearance is ongoing.
