NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office says an inmate walked away from a security line at Municipal Court on Monday.  He’s identified as 38-year old Lionel C. Trumble.

According to a statement, Trumble was being transferred along with a number of other inmates to court for regularly scheduled hearings when he walked away from the security line.

The statement says Trumble is charged with multiple counts of possession of stolen property.

The sheriff’s office also says the deputy involved did not properly follow procedures regarding the movement of inmates.  That deputy will remain suspended until an official investigation is completed.  The sheriff’s office did not release the name of the deputy.

The search for Trumble is described as “active”.  If you see him, call 911 or CrimeStoppers at 504-822-1111.
