NEW ORLEANS (WGNO)- Miss Ella Brennan of Commander's Palace is one of our city's food matriarchs.  She's turning 90 years old this month and News with a Twist's Kenny Lopez takes us to her birthday party!

Miss Ella Brennan is so famous she even has her own cardboard cut-out of herself!  But the real deal, all 90 years old of her, is who we all love.

Miss Ella is the icon of the legendary restaurant, Commander's Palace, where she set the bar high, not only for her restaurant, but for the entire food and hospitality industry.

She's known for her catchy sayings like: "I sacrificed my body for the restaurant industry."  She's even an ambassador for the city.  She's the one who helped changed the carriage rides in the French Quarter from horses to mules because of the extreme summer heat.

Her daughter, Ti Martin, and her niece, Lally Brennan, say she deserves to be toasted on her 90th birthday.  So, that's why Commander's Palace, Sobou, and Cafe Adelaide are all celebrating everything Ella!

"She's the oldest living Brennan, go figure,"  Ti Martin said.

A big gift box sits outside of Commander's Palace for her friends and visitors to sign, wishing her a happy birthday!

Her actual birthday is the day after Thanksgiving on November 27th.
