COVINGTON, LA (WGNO) -- Saint Tammany deputies are planning a party for a K-9 deputy named Thor on Friday.  Earlier in the week, Thor was stabbed by a burglary suspect.  He is recovering from serious cuts to some of his muscles on the side of his neck at the top of one leg.

According to deputies, millions of people have expressed an interest online on Thor's condition.  So the four-legged deputy will have a rally in his honor.  Check out the invite below!

The attack happened Tuesday following a car chase.  According to Sheriff Jack Strain, Thor saved his handler's life by intercepting a suspect who was approaching with a switch-blade knife.  You can find more details on the events of Tuesday here.
