NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – The Jesuit Blue Jays and the Holy Cross Tigers are ready to kick off an always important conference game on Friday night.

The Blue Jays are coming off of a tough loss to the St. Augustine Purple Knights. Jesuit got out to an early 14-6 lead, but a 20 point second quarter from St. Aug proved too much for the Jays to overcome. The Blue Jays seem to still be struggling to get back to their championship form that they rode to the title game last season.

After losing Foster Moreau to LSU along with some other playmakers, it seems that Jesuit is still looking to find their identity for this season. However, Jesuit is never short on playmakers, and with playmaking wide receiver Kalija Lipscomb still on the team their offense is still dangerous.

Holy Cross, on the other hand, is coming in hot. The Tigers are riding a three-game win streak after winning big games over Hammond, Chalmette, and Shaw in their past three outings. After a first-round exit from the playoffs last year, the Tigers are looking to improve on their season and make a deep playoff run. After an 0-1 start, they are right on track and look to continue their hot streak against Jesuit on Friday night.
