If you end up near the corner of Tulane and Broad and you are dying of hunger, there is a place just a stones throw away that will kill that hunger with cheesy, gooey goodness. The place is called the Big Cheezy and they are whipping up some delectable sandwiches and sides that can conquer any hunger.
The folks at Big and Cheezy aim to serve up an honest to goodness "comfort food" classic with a New Orleans spin. They have 13 signature sandwiches, the opportunity to build your own sandwich some tasty sides, house made salads and for dessert you could go with bread pudding or (stay with me) dessert based grilled cheese sandwiches served on toasted beignets. That's right, they slice the beignets in half fill them with tasty fillings and grill them up like just like those grilled cheese sandwiches.
One of the signature sandwiches is called "The Big Cheezy" and believe me this thing doesn't disappoint, It is a triple-decker sandwich stuffed with six cheeses. This big boy doesn't disappoint. I also wanted to say a thing or two about their sides. They do a great mac & cheese, tasty sweet potato fries and monstrous waffle fries. When you couple those fries with some of their tomato basil soup or the roast beef debris, you are really on to something. So, if you are hungry for something that is simple and filling hit the Big Cheezy. You won't regret it.
