NEW ORLEANS (WGNO)- Someone has been tagging "Reznor" on buildings and billboards all over New Orleans, and anti-graffiti guy, Fred Radtke, aka the "Grey Ghost" is out to catch him.

"Reznor is doing the whole city.  Dozens all over the city.  He's done roofs, billboards, buildings that are two-stories high.  This guy is basically out of control right now.  We've covered  up some of the markings, but he keeps coming back and re-tagging them," Radtke said.

All the damage he's doing is costing the property owners over $25,000.

"The New Orleans Police Department is following up to make sure that this guy isn't only fined, but arrested,"  he said.

Radtke is the founder and President of Operation Clean Sweep, which eliminates graffiti with his trademark gray paint.  He said in the last six months these "Reznor" tags have been popping up in too many places and it must stop!

"We're just like hunters out there.  We just follow the graffiti taggers' path,"  he said.

What makes it so difficult for Operation Clean Sweep is, "You have to catch him in the act, sometimes he's doing the tagging late at night or early in the morning."

Radtke's mission is crystal clear, "Don't be seedy, erase graffiti!"

There's a state law against graffiti which states that a conviction could mean two years in prison.

Since Operation Clean Sweep started, they've painted over 22,000 tags.

If you have any graffiti in your neighborhood, you can call the graffiti hotline at (504) 486-9694.

You do know this guys crazy backstory right , Radtke is not a good guy helping out the community ….he’s a crazy with his own form of graffiti …big grey blotches help no one and he’s been known on more then a one occasion to cover up ligimate art on private property and threaten anyone that question his “work”

It’s his own form of artistic expression. The grey blotches represent the color of our existence. Nay, our very souls. Grey is life to which we are born, and grey is the oblivion to which we die.

This guy was the guy covering up Banksy art and wgno should be ashamed for publishing this article. He’s ruined many priceless pieces and is no better than these graffiti artists.

This guy is an absolute joke. It’s an absolute embarrassment that WGNO is engaging with his nonsense AND also coming across as supportive to this jerks efforts. He has illegally painted over “graffiti” MANY times without permission, ILLEGALLY.

He’s a horribly uncreative criminal with too much time to kill, obviously.

Radke an ass. He does more damage than the original tagger. He trespasses and had covered commissioned art. When challenged by property owners he has resorted to violence. I’m sorry that he crawled out of the hole he’s been in for the last few years.

Graffiti painters need to face serious jail time. Tired of them costing innocent folks mega bucks because they are nothing but talentless uneducated unemployed losers. First off if these losers are collecting any type of public assistance- cut them off. Do a crime and lose the public dime. If they are a kid living with the parents then the parents need have their Public Assistance cut off. Maybe then they will pay attention to what their little thug is up to.

Is this supposed to be real journalism? I feel like I’m reading a children’s book.
