Police seize phones in Destrehan teacher sex scandal case

DESTREHAN, La. (WGNO) – The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office confirms that detectives have seized mobile telephones and are searching them for video evidence in connection with the case of two Destrehan High School teachers who were arrested for allegedly having sex with a 16-year-old student.

Both Teachers, Shelley Dufresne, 32, and Rachel Respess, 24, were arrested in Kenner last week, after it was learned that the alleged tryst happened at an apartment there.

Detectives are searching the phones after rumors surfaced that someone may have made a video recording of the incident.

Dufrense and Respess both face charges of carnal knowledge of a juvenile as well as contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
