The Louisiana Attorney General’s Office announced the arrest of a Marrero woman in connection with a joint investigation into child trafficking and prostitution.

The AG’s office says 38-year old Candice Caulfield of 1840 Wellington Drive was booked on charges of human trafficking, trafficking of children for sexual purposes, second degree cruelty of juveniles, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, promoting prostitution, and enticing persons into prostitution.

According to the AG’s office, Caulfield could get more than 200 years in prison if convicted.

Few details were released about the allegations.  At Caulfield’s home, children’s toys were visible from the street, but there’s no word on the ages of any of the children allegedly targeted in the case.

Neighbors of Caulfield had mixed reactions to the arrest.  Click on the video button above to see their interview.
