NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Now when you look up in the Lower Garden District you’ll have a real sight to see. The St. Mary Assumption Church Bell Tower is being renovated thanks to an active campaign “Don’t let the Tower Crumble.”

The tower’s bells will ring again and the wooden clock will be replaced by a mechanical clock.

Father Richard Thibodeau says all the funds they need to finish the project are pretty much accounted for.
