LAFOURCHE PARISH (WGNO) – Lafourche Parish deputies arrested three people on drug charges.  One of them is a Golden Meadow police officer identified as Ashley Pollard.  The other two suspects are Pollard’s girlfriend and his brother.

Deputies say the three worked together to manufacture methamphetamine.

All three posted bond and were released from jail.  The sheriff’s office says Ashley Pollard claimed he used the drug to cope with post-traumatic stress caused by his military service.

A news release from the sheriff’s office also included a statement from Golden Meadow Chief of Police Reggie Pitre that says Ashley Pollard resigned from the department.

“I am sorely disappointed in the actions of this former officer. The Golden Meadow Police Department has no tolerance for criminal behavior, and we want to reassure the public that this officer’s actions are not a reflection on our department as a whole. My sincere hope is that this ultimately results in him getting the treatment and help he needs,” Pitre also says in his statement.
