(WGNO) – The National Hurricane Center has issued an advisory for Tropical Depression 2.

The area of low pressure is about 1,205 miles from the Lesser Antilles. There are no coastal watches or warnings with this storm. But it will still need to be monitored closely over the next 48 hours, meteorologist Jeff Womack said.

Winds measured at 35 mph Monday afternoon. Right now the area of low pressure is not expected to strengthen. The system was moving west at 16 mph. The National Hurricane Center forecasts the depression to weaken to a remnant low by Thursday evening as it gets closer to the Lesser Antilles.
