Things to Do Around New Orleans for 4th of July

LS019546(WGNO) – Perhaps it’s best to leave the pyrotechnics to the professionals. There are several parties around the area this 4th of July.

The 30th annual St. Bernard Salutes America kicks off at 4:30 p.m. at the Sigur Center. Amanda Shaw will be there. Also some rides, games and a hot dog eating contest. Fireworks begin at 9 p.m.

On the North Shore, Abita Springs will host a summer festival at the trailhead. The food, music and fun start at 6:00 p.m. Fireworks at 8:45 p.m.

The Go 4th On The River in New Orleans will feature dueling barges, in what they call a fireworks “extravaganza.” The show starts at 9 p.m. between the Governor Nicholls Street Wharf and the Canal Street dock.
