Everything a New Orleans Dad Would Want is in This Shop

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – In most households dads can be some of the hardest to buy for. One store centering around everything for men offers some options for Father’s Day.

“If you can’t find something for dad here, then you really do have some problems,” Aidan Gill said.

Aidan Gills store for men and barber shop has been able to answering this call for 25 years from ties to hair trims and their one of a kind shaves.

“Hot towel steamer we have here which is 100 years old which is pumping out the steam towels, and we have the hot cream and the hot shave oils. But we are using a modern blade …were blending tradition and technology,” Gill explains. “We also have Guinness on draft, beer Irish Whiskey. So dad can truly get a shave, relax, and hang out for an hour or so. And it will be one of those hours in the day. When there are no telephone calls. And if anybody calls looking for dad… we haven’t seen him.”

“I work construction, so I’m up early in the morning.  I shave real quickly and I’m out the door real quick. This shave was definitely a treat,” Scott Chappelle said.

Some of the products carried with dad in mind, include things to make every day grooming easier for fathers that know best.

“We have the razor blade sharpener, the razor pit. Your blade will last 2 or 3 months not 2 or 3 weeks. We also have shaving creams from England, and from Italy. We have a great new shaving oil a great groom to people with shaving difficulties. And will make shaving a pleasure,” Gill says.

Aidan Gills on Magazine and Fulton Street will be open Father’s Day for last-minute shoppers.
