KENNER, La. (WGNO) – Arrest warrant were issued for Terry Speaks in connection with the murder and dismemberment of dancer Jaren Lockhart, Kenner Police Chief Steve Caraway announced Thursday.

Speaks and his former girlfriend, Margaret Sanchez, both face charges of second degree murder and obstruction of justice.

Sanchez was charged early last month. She is currently in the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center with a $750,000 bond.

Speaks allegedly confessed to killing, cutting up and disposing Lockhart to a fellow inmate, opening up the two year murder case.

Speaks is currently incarcerated at a New York prison for failing to register as a sex offender.  He is expected to be released in October, but will be extradited back to Louisiana.

Speaks and Sanchez were the last known people to see Lockhart alive. The three were seen on surveillance video leaving a Bourbon Street club together.
