FAIRBURN, S.D.  — A storm chaser is OK after he was struck by lightning trying to film a powerful storm in South Dakota.

Scott Sheppard was filming video in Fairburn when he noticed a lightning storm.  He opened his car window and stretched out his arm to get a better angle of the event.

But what he got, was video of him being hit by lightning.

According to SevereStudios, who uploaded the video to YouTube Tuesday, the lightning struck Sheppard’s arm then traveled to the ground creating a hole in the pavement.

The lightning also disabled his vehicle and a passing car.

Luckily, Sheppard walked away with only a sore arm, but is otherwise OK.
