NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – The NOPD says a 15-year-old boy was killed after a shooting Friday night and seven others were injured by gunfire.

The names of the victims have not been released pending notification of family members.

Police say the incident occurred at approximately 11:20 p.m., in the 6200 block of Eads Street.

Police say they responded to a call of several people shot and upon their arrival found a 15-year-old male shot, four females and three males shot.

The 15-year-old died at the hospital.

Detectives learned the victims were at a graduation party when an argument ensued and believe that at least one suspect began firing striking the victims.

Three males, ages 22 to 25, sustained non life threatening injuries.

Detectives are investigating the incident to determine a motive and the identity of the suspect(s) in the case.
