19-Year-old Arrested After Pointing Gun at NOPD Officer

A 19-year-old is behind bars. NOPD officers say  Jiren Major pulled out a gun and aimed it at a police officer as they chased  him.

According to reports the officers were responding to a call of a man with a gun in the Lower Ninth. Police say when officers arrived Major took off running, and eventually reports show Major turned and pointed a gun at one of the officers.
According to police the officer discharged his weapon, but no one was hit.

19-year-old Major faces multiple charges including aggravated assault on a peace officer.
