Destrehan Advances, Hahnville Toppled in 5A playoffs

Destrehan pitcher Kade Granier continues his outstanding senior season.

Granier fired a no-hitter as the Wildcats beat Byrd 3-0 in the first round of the 5A baseball playoffs.

Hahnville fell to Rummel 5-3 in 10 innings. Hahnville tied the game in the 6th on Logan Billingsley’s RBI double that scored Peyton Robert. Rummel tallied twice in the 10th. The Raiders took the lead on a Scott Wetzel RBI double that plated Ashanti Wheatly.

Destrehan travels to Alexandria in the second round. Rummel plays at Jesuit. Jesuit beat Central Baton Rouge 7-4. All second and third rounds in the 5A playoffs are best 2 of 3 series.
