Home Invasion Reported Near Tulane University, Police Say

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Two men forced their way into a home near Tulane University Friday afternoon, campus police report.

According to officials, two men knocked on a door of a home near Broadway and Spruce around 3 p.m.  When the home owner answered they showed a gun and forced their way into the home, ordering the man to lay on his couch.

The men were allegedly looking for narcotics.

According to the report, the men fled a short time later onto Spruce in the direction of Audubon in a maroon sedan.

They are described as:

Suspect 1: Black male, 16-18 years of age, 5’9, approximately 135lbs, dark skinned, with a thin mustache.  Wearing either a red shirt or hat and blue jeans.

Suspect 2: Black male, mid 20’s, wearing a gray hoodie, no further description.

    That should be "forced to lie on the floor." "Lay" is transitive –it takes an object. Lay the book on the table so it lies on its back.
