New Orleans Police Department says that on Friday the Fifth District experienced an armed robbery at a business located in the 4000 block of Louisa.

The suspect, armed with a handgun, approached the victim and demanded money.

As the victim was unable to open the cash register quickly, the subject fired two shots at the front counter protection glass.

The victim managed to get the register drawer open and complied with the gunman’s demands.

The subject subsequently fled the location in possession of an undisclosed amount of money.

The NOPD describes the subject as an African-American male with a brown complexion, approximately 25 – 30 years in age, approximately 5’08” to 5’10” in height, and weighs approximately 130 – 140 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a fishing hat, blue polo shirt (possibly a Burger King shirt), dark colored pants and brown boots with a rag covering his face.
