Man Chases, Attempts to Kidnap 11-Year-Old Girl in Houma

HOUMA, La. (WGNO) – Police in Houma are searching for a man who tried to kidnap an 11-year-old girl Thursday near her home.

Officers were en route to the 800 block of Central Avenue in reference to a suspicious vehicle when they saw a white man pull into a driveway and chase after the girl, Chief Todd Duplantis said in a release.

The girl managed to get inside her home and lock the door before he could grab her.

Police are looking for a white man in his 40s, about 6′ to 6’3″ and 150-170lbs.  He’s skinny, bald with a goatee.  He also has a feather tattoo on the top of his left hand.  He was wearing a black short sleeve polo shirt, with gray khaki pants, and black leather pointed shoes.

Chief Duplantis said the man was driving a newer model black Dodge RAM truck with chrome running boards, California tags TPX140.  The license plate number comes back with no record on file.
