Tonight’s it’s all about the throws. The bigger they are, the better, and if it lights up then the crowd goes wild.

“It’s just so much fun. Catch the beads, watch the parades; everything about it is great,” says a parade goer.

The atmosphere Uptown is infectious. From children begging for more to adults dressed like big kids.

“You can’t ask for anything better than a spring Mardi Gras. They love it!”

Families have claimed their spots for hours and riders aren’t holding back.

The Knights of Babylon kicks off the madness.  Tonight they celebrate 75 years parading! Up next the Krewe of Chaos and the all female Krewe of Muses.

“It’s just a good time of the year to come and have fun,” says a young parade goer.

“It’s one of the reasons I live here. I mean I’m a transplant from Texas.  I’ve been here for seven years and I can’t imagine living anywhere else,” says a parade goer.
