Tired of the same old dinner and a movie date for Valentine’s Day?  How about spicing it up…Hollywood Style by reenacting a famous scene from the classic 1990 flick, ‘Ghost’ starring Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore.

Byrdie’s Studio/Gallery/Coffee Shop is wanting couples to come and break the mold by unchaining your melody and getting dirty with clay just like Swayze and Moore did in the popular movie.

“It’s a wonderful thing that most people don’t often get to try,”  Heather Byrdie at Byrdie’s said.

“The classic clay between your fingers moment.  You can’t beat it.  ‘Ghost’ had cheesy dialogue, the song–“Unchained Melody”, and a giant lump of clay,”  she said.

Byrdie’s is giving couples the once in a lifetime chance to spoof the sexy pottery scene.  Anytime she tells people she works with clay, they always mention  ‘Ghost’.  She thought it would be a perfect Valentine’s Day date, and they are making a competition out of it.   Prizes will be given out the the couples.

“Anybody can come.  Bring your dog, whomever.  It’s going to be fun,”  Byrdie said.

For the single hearts, you’ll be able to come and shatter pottery pieces against the floor or wall of the gallery.

“Smashing helps,”  she said.

Byrdie is pretty sure reenacting the pottery scene will be something couples will hold dear to their hands and their hearts.

“A little more fun than your traditional candlelit dinner,” she said.

The party starts at 8 p.m. on Valentine’s Day.  The “ghosting spoof competition” begins at 9 p.m.  Anybody can come and watch.  It’s a free event .

Byrdie’s is located at 2422 St. Claude Ave.
