Pelicans forward Anthony Davis was the first pick in the 2012 draft. And, two  years later he’s the first pick in one of the All Star weekend’s key festivities.

Davis was chosen first overall in the “draft” for the BBVA Compass Rising Stars game. The game will be played Friday night February 14th at the newly named Smoothie King center.

Davis was chosen by retired NBA forward Chris Webber.

Davis leads the Pelicans in scoring (20.5 points per game) and rebounding (10.5 per game).
