Smell the roses.  If only we could do that more often.  Sit back for a moment and reflect on how good things are going.  If you’re a Saints fan, now is as good as any time to appreciate our local NFL team.  The Saints are on a roll and have been since head coach Sean Payton and quarterback Drew Brees took over way back in 2006. That first year the team made it all the way to the NFC title game.  Since then they’ve been back and won.

It’s nice to have a George Halas trophy on Airline drive and even nicer to have the Vince Lombardi trophy there.  The great thing is this Saints team isn’t finished.  Not by a long shot.  Brees is in the prime of his  career with several more years left in the tank.  And Sean Payton, the ultimate competitor, is always ready for a fight.  They better be because this Saturday afternoon in Seattle the Saints have their hands full.  This same Seahawk team throttled the Saints a month ago in the great northwest and look to do the same on Saturday.  You figure this time, the Saints will be ready.  Payton will have the ultimate game plan ready and hopefully Brees and company execute it to perfection.

There are only about a half dozen NFL teams that could even think of going into Seattle and picking up a win.  The Saints are one of them.  I like that the Saints got beat by this team.  I like that the Saints are at least an 8 point underdog.  I like that Brees and Payton are being counted out.  Smell the roses Saints fans.  We are experiencing the greatest era in Saints football and Saturday Payton, Brees, and the team  should be ready.
