Valdin resigns at Hahnville, citing “health” reasons

Lou Valdin jpgThe winningest coach in Hahnville football history has resigned. Lou Valdin submitted his resignation Monday, citing health reasons.

In a letter to Hahnville principal Ken Oertling, Valdin said he ran “a scandal free program” that represented Hahnville and St Charles Parish with “class.”

Valdin won 132 games, making the playoffs in 14 consecutive seasons.  The Tigers also won 7 district titles and the 2003 class 5A championship.

In the 2013 playoffs, 24th seeded Hahnville upset 9th seeded Ouachita Parish 42-25.

The Tigers fell to 8th seeded Barbe 42-14 the following week.
