The holidays are in full swing; signs of Christmas are everywhere. From Santa mobbed by kids on the levee to decorated out streetcars, Summer time is long gone!

The weather has shifted, the lights are twinkling, and just to think all the daily festivities going on this month are just a click away.

“When you live here it’s easy to take the city for granted a little bit, and so what we do is we create really great excuses for people to come downtown,” says Marci Schramm, Executive Director for French Quarter Festivals, Inc.

For the 29th year French Quarter Festivals Incorporated is making it easy for you to kick back and soak it all in through ‘Christmas New Orleans Style.’ Their little book and website has it all. From reduced hotel rates to Reveillon Dinners at some of the best restaurants in town.

“It’s a fixed price dinner and there really is something for every budget. There’re some really fantastic lower prices and there are some that are really up there, but completely worth it.”

‘Christmas New Orleans Style’ also includes a list of daily events going on around town. Many of the events are free like concerts at the Cathedral Sunday through Thursday, to cooking demonstrations and light shows.

“As locals we are here and we see it every day, but it’s nice to remind ourselves that we live in such a special place and there’s just so much to do and the weather can’t be beat.”

I have to travel a lot for my business, mostly in Europe, but often in the states to great cities like New Orleans. I used to use sites like Travelocity to book my hotels, but I quickly found the better way to find deals: go to the second level sites – those like… who compare the hundreds of different booking sites in one single search. You'll not only see Trivago or Expedia deals, but ALL OF THEM in one place.

I must have saved over 3,000 Euros since I started using ReservationCreation. I sincerely believe that using only one of the top booking sites is not necessarily the best idea.

‘Christmas New Orleans Style.’ is a nice change of pace for the tourists, but for those of us visiting family it's just not Christmas unless it is New Orleans Style.

My suggestion to anyone looking for deals on travel is to use as many reputable online sources as you can to find the best deal for you. Our site focuses solely on hotel rooms, and we have a lot of deals that other sites don't have, and you'll find deals on other sites that we don't have – that is just how the travel industry works. Try to look as far ahead of the dates you want, and do your research.

    Happy Holidays!
