Pelicans comeback falls short in loss to Golden State

This Pelicans came this close to winning at home Tuesday night.

Eric Gordon’s three point shot from the left corner went in and came out with :01 second to play as Golden State edged New Orleans 102-101 at New Orleans Arena.

The Pelicans lost despite holding the Warriors scoreless the last 2:12 of the game. Anthony Davis’ dunk follow with :47 seconds remaining cut Golden State’s lead to 102-101.

After a Golden State miss, Pelicans coach Monty Williams decided against a time out to set up a play. Jrue Holiday dribbled penetrated and found Gordon wide open.

The shot stayed out and New Orleans fell for the 8th time in 14 games.

Golden State’s Klay Thompson led all scorers with 22 points. Ryan Anderson scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Pelicans.
