Beware if you want an ATV, go-cart, golf cart, motorized scooter or dirt bike for Christmas.  You may want to add one more item to your wish list — the land to ride it.

Houma police are promising to crack down on anyone who takes to the road riding a vehicle that is not street legal.

They say they’re responding to complaints from neighbors who are tired of dodging the vehicles on streets or dealing with the damage they can cause to property.

So if you get that dream thrill machine for Christmas, enjoy.  But make sure you have somewhere to ride it legally.
