Pelicans rally fans but still ask for help naming mascot

Monday evening, the New Orleans Pelicans hosted a preseason pep rally for fans at Manning’s on Fulton Street.

Players Tyreke Evans, Eric Gordon, Anthony Morrow, and Austin Rivers were set to appear along with the team’s dance team.

Fans showed up expressing their excitement about Wednesday’s regular season opener at the New Orleans Arena.

But before then, along with all the fun and festivities, there is some unfinished business.  The Pelicans still do not have a name for the team’s mascot.

The list is down to two, Pete and Pierre.

The mascot and its name will be revealed during Wednesday’s game.
