Rebs pick Mett 3 times, upset #6 LSU

LSU is no longer the highest ranked one loss team in the country.

Ole Miss intercepted Zach Mettenberger three times, and Andrew Ritter kicked a 41 yard field goal as time expired as Ole Miss beat 6th ranked LSU 27-24 Saturday night in Oxford.

The LSU defense was gashed. Ole Miss had 28 first downs, and 525 yards of offense. Ole Miss was 11 of 18 in third down conversions.

Ole Miss took a 17-0 third quarter lead on a 2 yard touchdown run by Jaylen Walton. Walton’s 26 yard touchdown run gave Ole Miss a 24-14 lead in the fourth.

LSU tied the game with 3:19 to play on a 4 yard touchdown pass from Mettenberger to Jarvis Landry.

But, Ole Miss then drove to set up Ritter’s game winning field goal.

Rebel quarterback Bo Wallace completed 30 of 39 passes for 346 yards.
