More angry criticism of the new “common core” school curriculum.
Common core is a national program, designed to bring all students up to the same ability level, regardless of what state they live in.
But some parents say the material is too tough, and they want Louisiana to get out of the program.
State Representative Kevin Pearson of Slidell held a town hall meeting tonight, saying he wanted to hear directly from voters and he got an earfull.
Common core was also debated at tonight’s St. Tammany’s School Board meeting in Covington.
The board is considering a resolution to ask the Governor Jindal to pull Louisiana out of the program.
