Tropical Storm? What Tropial Storm? The Gretna Heritage Festival is ready to kick off Friday at 4 p.m.

Festival organizers have been watching Karen carefully and Friday morning they decided she is not likely to pose any serious threat.

Friday night, as scheduled, Uncle Kracker will take the stage at 7, followed by Earth Wind & Fire.

Then, over the weekend, Chicago and ZZ Top will perform, all for the price of $20 admission each day, or $50 for the whole weekend.

The only way organizers will call it all off is if winds blow higher than 40 miles per hour. Organizers say that appears unlikely.

The Gretna Ferry will be running from Canal Street directly to the festival grounds starting at 3:45 Friday afternoon.
