The HistoryMakers, the nation’s largest African American video oral history archive hosts its 4th Annual Back to School With The HistoryMakers Program.

The goal of our program is to place black leaders into schools across the nation on a single day in order to make a statement about the importance of inspiring today’s youth and to call on them to commit to excellence and to finishing their education.

L.W. Higgins High School, SciTech Academy and New Orleans Charter Science and Mathematics High School are participating in our program this year, and local leaders, R&B musician “Deacon” John Moore, music professor and jazz musician Michael White, and medical director and physician Dr. Gloria Jackson Bacon will go “back to” these schools.
