CASA Jefferson teamed up with some Saints players and Fleurty Girl today to raise awareness about violence against kids.

CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates; they work with neglected children in the judicial system.

Jefferson Parish President John Young says the solution starts with good role models: “Start reversing the trend somewhere and this is the way to do that.  Obviously we’ll continue at the government level to fight blight to work with our sheriff’s office, the D.A.’s office and the court system, but this an opportunity to prevent it from happening in the first place.”

CASA Jefferson will be at Buffalo Wild Wings in Metairie on Monday at 6:30 p.m. with Saints punter Thomas Morstead to sign up volunteers. They’re especially encouraging men to be advocates for kids.
