“My father was an artist in Jackson Square for fifty years and my mother taught art in public schools,” says Tina Turner, licensed floral designer.

It is not a surprise that Turner has an eye for color, symmetry, shape and beauty. Yet, there’s something about her work that is simply breathtaking. “This is the best city to be an artist, you can express yourself and I’m able to do that every week in the hotels.”

Turner works for The Plant Gallery but travels to some of the most luxurious hotels in New Orleans to create one of a king masterpieces.

“The arrangement is really the first thing our guests see when they step off the elevator into our main lobby and we feel like it really sets the tone for their stay in terms of luxury and the grace and beauty that we want to have here at the Ritz Carlton New Orleans,” says Communications Manager Paul Loisel.

Each display is the result of a delicate dance, a floral ballet that inspires others who come just to see the performance.

“There are some people who come every week to watch and I sure don’t want to disappoint them,” says Turner.
