Tonight NOPD officers say 24-year-old Devin Waterhouse is now facing charges for a crime he allegedly committed Mardi Gras Day 2013.
Waterhouse faces second degree murder charges.

Police say Waterhouse shot and killed 22-year-old Kiran Harris on Laharpe Street in the Seventh Ward on Mardi Gras last February.

Detectives took Waterhouse into custody last Friday when he reported to the Weekend Warriors program at the Orleans Parish Prison.  Waterhouse was ordered by a municipal court to participate in the program after recently being convicted for carrying a concealed weapon.  The program orders offenders like Waterhouse to report to prison every Friday, where they remain incarcerated until Sunday.

Devin Waterhouse was previously arrested for Illegal Carrying of a Weapon, Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated serial number, Battery and Disturbing the Peace.
