Woman Dies in Slidell House Fire

A woman is dead after a Slidell home erupted in flames Friday afternoon.

Firefighters arrived on the scene at 1451 St. Ann Place.  They found the house was engulfed with fire and heavy smoke.  Neighbors alerted crews that a woman was trapped inside.  They were able to remove the unconscious victim from a rear bedroom by cutting a hole in the exterior wall.  The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.  She died from her injuries.

Two other people in the home and were able to get out safely.   The fire is under investigation.
