Plan Finalized to Keep Algiers Ferry Afloat

The New Orleans city council approves a new, higher fare to keep the Algiers ferry running.

The vote was unanimous in favor of the RTA’s plan to charge ferry passengers on foot, in cars or riding a bike $2 dollars per crossing.

The decision comes with a lot of relief and longer operating hours.

The Federal Transit Administration will offer tax credits to help workers in the hospitality industry ride for free.

Commuters can save more buying a monthly pass.

There`s  also discounts for senior citizens and disabled.

New ferry changes go into effect October 1st.
