New Orleans Police are on the look-out for two men who held up two women and their 3-year-old in the Marigny, directed them to put all of their property in their vehicle and then drove off in their Jeep.
The women say the two African-American males approached them around 8:30 last night as they were just getting back to their Jeep, which they’d parked in the 500-block of Marigny Street. One of the women got situated in the car with the toddler while the driver loaded up the car with their belongings. One of the men pointed a shiny, black firearm at the driver and demanded she give up her watch and her vehicle. The other suspect approached the woman on the passenger side, and demanded that she, too, give up her watch and get out of the vehicle. Both women’s purses and other belongings were also inside of the vehicle.
The victims pleaded with the men that they let them take the little girl out of the Jeep, and they complied. Then the men drove off.
Police brought the victims to the Eighth District station, where they described the suspects to a sketch artist. Two computer composite sketches of those suspects are at the bottom of this release.
The vehicle stolen is a white 2007 Jeep Compass, Louisiana plate-PNT800.
The first suspect is described as an African-American male, 18 to 20-years-old, short hair, 5’10” tall, a thin build and wearing a white t-shirt. He was armed with a semi-automatic, shiny, black pistol.
The second suspect is described as an African-American male, about 20-years-old, 5’7” tall, medium build and wearing a dark cap.
